Some important Idioms And Phrase

অতি প্রয়োজনীয় ৪০ টি Idioms And Phrases বাংলা অর্থ ও উদাহরণসহকারে ... ...যে কোন পরীক্ষার ইংলিশ বিষয়ের জন্য তো অবশ্যই প্রয়োজন হবে ..তাছাড়া ইংরেজিতে কথা বলার জন্য Idioms And Phrases ব্যবহার করলে সেই কথা হয়ে উঠে আরও শ্রতিমধুর, আরও সুন্দর। Idioms And Phrases ব্যবহার করে কথাগুলো শ্রোতার নিকট আরও সহজে এবং স্পষ্টভাবে বোঝানো যায়।

7) Short cut (সংক্ষিপ্ত) - Jerry used a short cut from the orphanage to the cabin.
8) Shoulder to shoulder (সবাই মিলেমিশে) - We should do work shoulder to shoulder .
9) Silver tongue (মিষ্ঠ ভাষী)- He is a man of silver tongue.
10) Sine die (অনির্দিষ্ট কাল) - The college was closed for sine die.
11) Slip of tongue (মুখ ফসকে উক্তি বের হওয়া) - He made a slip of the tongue in his speech.
12) Slow and steady (ধীর স্থির ব্যক্তি)- A proverb goes that slow and steady wins the race.

23) To go to the dogs (গোল্লায় গোল্লায়)- He has gone to the dogs by keeping evil company.

25) To the brim (কানায় কানায়) - The river was full to the brim.
26) To the point (সঠিক)- The boy answered the question to the point.
27) To the utmost (যথাসাধ্য)- I tried to the utmost of my ability to have a job.

29) up to (পর্যন্ত) - I have done the exercises up to page 40.
30) Upper hand (প্রধান্য) - He got the upper hand in the selection.
31) Ups and downs (উত্থান পতন)- There is ups and downs in a man's life.
32) Up-to-date (আধুনিক) - Now-a-days ladies are very up to date.
33) Victim of (বলি)- He is a victim of circumstances.
34) Well off (স্বচ্ছল) - Jim and Della were not well off.
35) Well up (সুপন্ডিত)- Dr. Shahidullah was well-up in Bengali language.
36) well-to-do (সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ) - He was not born in a well-to-do family.
37) With a view to (উদ্দেশ্য)- He goes to college with a view to attending the class.
38) Without fail (অবশ্যই) - You must attend the meeting without fail.
39) Worthy of (যোগ্য) - He is worthy of a good job.
40) Yellow dog (হীন ব্যক্তি) - A yellow dog is always hated by all.
